Introduction: reXref is an automatic application which updates "on the fly" the xref paths in AutoCAD drawings. If you have been using xrefs in AutoCAD, you noticed the problem occurrs the moment you need to move xref drawings for some reason to another disc, network location etc... for then you had to go through all drawings and update the paths. This program enables you to carry out xref path update in your drawings "on the fly", smoothly, fast and simply. You enter all paths and define belonging new ones through dialogue window within AutoCAD. Each time a drawing is opened, reXref program checks whether there are broken xref paths, and if there are, it searches for new locations according to your informations. When it finds a new datafile on a new location with the same name as belonging xref object, it updates xref path. Example: c:temp -> d:temp c:temp -> serverfoldertemp * -> serverfolderall_xrefs * -> serverfoldermy_xrefs '*' asterisk use enables search for any broken xref path on new location. Informations on paths are saved in .txt datafile which, if desired, may be updated manually, too, without starting reXref program. If you work within network, and xref datafiles were on server and location change affected many users, reXref.txt datafile once defined can simply be copied to each one's hard disc and all users will at the same moment have their xref paths updated. Depending on your desires and needs, program may be recalled manually from fall-down menu if necessary, and it may also remain permanently active to automatically check respective xref paths when every drawing is opened.
